How To: Keep Your Bra In Perfect Condition

All you need is :
  • A lingerie bag ($3.89 on Amazon, $10 at VS)
  • Mild Laundry Soap (I find that Purex works the best)
  • Towel (Any will do really)
  1. Okay first things first, when washing your bras to avoid the elastic band from stretching you need to make sure that the hooks are hooked in the back. Trust me it helps your bras life over time.
  2.  Place your bras in a lingerie bag foam or mesh will do. This also slows the process of stretching in your bras.
  3. ONLY USE COLD WATER. Hot water actually makes it to where the bras elasticity will expand and contrast thus causing it to stretch and become less effective.
  4. It's really recommended to wash your bras by hand but there is one exception. And that is if you put your bras in the lingerie bag in the wash on the gentle cycle.
  5. DO NOT USE THE DRYER TO DRY YOUR BRAS! For the same reason that you don't use hot water to wash them. Except with the dryer you can possibly shrink your new bra and be sort of sol.  Also if you have a wild color like hot pink or anything of that nature your bras color may bleed with all your other clothes. Yikes! But all you need to do is hang your bras on a rack and have your towel under them to catch the water.
  6. For this method it's recommended that you have at least 3 bras at a time. One to wear, one in the wash and the other ready for the next day.
  7. Just so everyone is clear you should only put 2 or 3 tablespoons of laundry soap in with your bras rather washing by hand or on the gentle cycle.
Hope this helps ladies!

Aerie V.S Victoria's Secret

Victoria's Secret's Demi Bra
Aerie's Ella Bra

So since I'm getting married next year I went to look at the lingerie and bras in Victoria's Secret. And just for your information ladies I recommend you get yourself sized yearly! I say this because I was sized last year at a Victoria's Secret and was a C 36 so thinking that I was to be that size forever I never thought to re-size myself. Come to find that I somehow without realizing it I grew a cup bigger. So for the entire year of 2012 I was wearing the wrong size bra. This would explain a lot things like the fact that wire would always poke me and a lot of other problems. The reason I didn't notice that my breasts had gotten bigger was because after about 6 months of wear and tear your bra starts to stretch out and not have the ability to hold you up. I suppose you learn something every day huh?! But enough of my personal problems. This post is about the comparison of quality and price between Victoria's Secret and Aerie!

First I would like to say that truthfully I can't bash either company because they both put out phenomenal products. Both in their clothing and hygienic products and they keep woman all over the world feeling absolutely beautiful. One of the most important factors for most woman is the price and if the price is going to be high what am I getting right? Well as far as the pricing factor Aerie from American Eagle wins hands down. And when they have their sales usually in the winter months you are literally paying right around Wal-Marts' price for a bra. But here's the greatest thing about this steal of a deal the bra from Aerie will last you years more than Wal-Mart quality bras will. Now, going through Victoria's Secret your eyes sort of bulge at the prices. Seriously a plain black, white or nude color bra with no additives and basic push up is $48.00 and one with the glitter and other glamorous things added like extra lift, lace, bows etc is $58.00+  I do realize that they do offer bras for $34.00 but I'll explain what wrong with that selection later.

What can be said about Victoria's Secret? You definitely get what you pay for their bras are for the most part very finely made with silks, fine laces, spandex and their embroidery are of the finest. So yes it's a chunk of money per bra but the benefit of Victoria's Secret is that her bras will last you ( as long as you don't grow anymore) for years. Now grant it because of the better materials it takes Victoria's Secret's bras will take roughly about a year to start to really noticeably wear down but if taken care of properly... yes these bras can last you years. My next post will tell you exactly how to keep your bras in the same tip top shape that they were when you bought them! With that being said, I believe that Aerie is a bra company that has good quality too. My only complaint so far and believe me I haven't tried their entire line, is that with the black lace for the cover of the cups and the side straps bra that I purchased on Saturday, the side straps that are purely lace can cause a bit of under arm irritation because you rub up against it so much. Other than that the bra has been amazing.  The cute thing about Aerie's line of bras is that each line has personal names. Now I haven't tried any of Aerie's lingerie but when I do there shall be a part II to this post.  Honestly I truly believe it a choice based on preference. The question that you need to ask yourself is are you going to sexy bombshell or just to be cute chic? And that will be the store you give your loyalty to.  Hope you guys enjoyed my review.

Intro To Your Critic

Hi guys! My name is Cassandra and this blog is dedicated to the review of fashion. Now there may be other reviews for places or things that aren't related but hopefully those post will help you. This year my life has changed so much. I turned 18 and then before I knew it I was graduating high school and then I moved away from the home state of Florida. Eleven hours later I ended up in Hickory, NC and I've been here since June. I have two kids named Tia and Aphrodite and my friend Brooke or "cookfanatic" absolutely loves them. And now, it's December and I'm planning a wedding! And I couldn't be more excited. It's not often that you get to marry your best friend you know. And to top that I'm transferring to my local community college to pursue a AS degree in Photography at CVCC and then I may   transfer to a university to complete my BS degree.
